isn’t jess beautiful?
shot this today in charleston.
doing a series of portraits inspired by poems by philip morse, who was my great great uncle, or something like that. after my nana passed away, my mom found this old poetry book he wrote. stuffed between some of the pages are dried four leaf clovers, news paper clippings about the family, and a drawing he did of my great grandmother.

The Birth of a Flower
When Israel’s Captian bade the sun stand still,
Loosed from the orb, a million flakes of flame
Were wafted down on meadow, vale, and hill,
And so to earth the golden poppy came.
