Lesson of the day:
NEVER LET SOMEONE ELSE SCAN YOUR NEGATIVES. ESPECIALLY SOMEONE FROM A GHETTO FILM DEVELOPING PLACE.
And when there is obviously a panorama/elongated multiple exposure, they shouldn’t crop out the middle part.
I mean, I know it’s Holga. And I think they had to cross-process the film, but I’m pretty sure (from past scanning experiences) this is what happens when you don’t spend time scanning/cropping the negs properly. And I know a few of the negs are really dense, but THEY AREN’T NOISY LIKE THIS. And the color? The two that came out have normal (as far has Holga goes) coloring. I’m tempted to go back and ask for a refund and/or to have them let me scan them myself.
On another note… I think I may possibly have come up with an idea I really like for my senior exhibition next year. I’ve got until April, but it’s nice to start getting ideas brewing in my head. I want to be super happy with what I do.

Currently scanning in negatives in the digital darkroom for my final project for ARTS 361. For this, I had Jessica do her thang and dance around while I snapped lots of photos on my Holga. I had my lights set up and synced to it, with makeshift ghetto gels. Here’s the second image I’ve scanned! Unfortunately, Holgas are anything but accurate, so what you see in the view finder isn’t really what you get. Aka the white wall to the side of the black backdrop. OH WELL!
I’ll probably be posting another couple of these as I’ll be scanning and working on them for a while.

Just got 4 rolls of film developed from my vacation in Cedar Key, Florida with some of my favorite people. Unfortunately, Ritz doesn’t scan 120mm, so I’m slowly but surely scanning it in in the digital darkroom at McMaster.
And can you guess what else I’ll be doing? Posting lots of them on tumblr.
Starting…. now!
