Lesson of the day:
NEVER LET SOMEONE ELSE SCAN YOUR NEGATIVES. ESPECIALLY SOMEONE FROM A GHETTO FILM DEVELOPING PLACE.
And when there is obviously a panorama/elongated multiple exposure, they shouldn’t crop out the middle part.
I mean, I know it’s Holga. And I think they had to cross-process the film, but I’m pretty sure (from past scanning experiences) this is what happens when you don’t spend time scanning/cropping the negs properly. And I know a few of the negs are really dense, but THEY AREN’T NOISY LIKE THIS. And the color? The two that came out have normal (as far has Holga goes) coloring. I’m tempted to go back and ask for a refund and/or to have them let me scan them myself.
On another note… I think I may possibly have come up with an idea I really like for my senior exhibition next year. I’ve got until April, but it’s nice to start getting ideas brewing in my head. I want to be super happy with what I do.
