A lot of what’s been going into my inspiration folder has been very Noir inspired. And last night, I got more sleep than I bargained for. So with the mixture of inspiration and much needed sleep, I did some Noir inspired self portraits.

A shot from the roll I just developed. For an assignment for my adv. b&w class, which was to take poetic imagery. So, I decided to shoot some for the series I’m doing on my home. Though, I think I’ll still want those in color. Not sure.

But yay! I didn’t mess anything up.

Next is printing on fiber paper. Which makes me scared. Cause it’s ‘spensive and I go through paper quickly…

We shot 4x5s in my adv. b&w class last week. I’ve only shot with one a couple times, but I really enjoy it, but it also scares me.

Jess is up in Pennsylvania with Luke UNTIL EARLY JANUARY and I already miss her.

Hillary said I should do a kickstarter to help me purchase one. It’s not like they’re thousands of dollars, but being a photographer is expensive as shit and there’s an endless amount of supplies I have to spend money on, especially being a student. And as I currently don’t make much money because I don’t have time to do much freelance work*, I rely a lot on my parents to support me so I have a roof over my head and enough food to eat. I would just BEG AND BEG AND BEG for it for Christmas, and say I want nothing else, but I’ve also got to start figuring out my trip to San Fransisco in March for the SPE National Conference. I certainly don’t expect my parents to pay for all of that, and I certainly won’t be able to afford it all on my own.

So… if I were to make a kickstarter in the near future, would you help me spread the word and possibly gimmie a dollar?

*21 hours next semester on top of being Photo Editor at Garnet & Black… that kiiiind of takes up MY ENTIRE LIFE.

SO UM… I have fallen completely in love with a camera. That camera is the Mamiya RB67.

It’s absolutely everything I want in a film camera. In fact, if it wasn’t so pricey to only shoot in film/if I didn’t need to instantly see photos I shot when doing things for the magazine, I would totally favor it over my DSLR.

I just wish I got my hands on this baby earlier this semester. As reviews for our projects are NEXT FREAKING WEEK. I’m glad I have 561 next semester to continue and expand on it, though. Just bummed I won’t be as happy with what I’ve got so far for the review.

this is from a couple months ago. i tried a bunch of things but i never posted any because i wasn’t happy with them, but here’s one that turned out alright. creepy, but alright. i don’t write songs or anything of that sort of outlet, so when i have a lot of things built up in me, sometimes i take photos such as this.
